Wayuu Bag Care and Washing Instructions
Our Wayuu bags, like the Celia Tote Bag and the Irene Bag, are made to last. With the right care, you can preserve their shape, color, and texture for years.
Caring for Your Celia tote bag and irene Bag
1. Handle with care
Avoid pulling on threads or cutting knots. Each stitch is essential to the bag’s structure.
2. Spot cleaning
If you notice a stain, clean it right away using a damp cloth and mild soap. Gently wipe without damaging the weave.
3. Hand wash (recommended)
- Use cold water and a small amount of mild detergent.
- Submerge the bag and gently massage the fabric.
- Avoid brushes or harsh scrubbing.
4. Rinse
Rinse thoroughly with cold water until all soap is gone. Do not wring or twist the bag—lightly press out excess water and pat dry with a clean towel.
5. Air dry
Let the bag air dry in a ventilated space, away from direct sunlight, to prevent fading. Make sure it’s completely dry before storing.
6. Shape maintenance
Do not hang the bag with heavy items inside. This helps it keep its original shape.
7. Machine wash (only if necessary)
- Turn the bag inside out and tuck in straps and tassels.
- Place it in a laundry bag for delicates.
- Wash on a short, delicate cycle (max. 15 minutes) with cold water and mild detergent.

By following these simple steps, your Wayuu Bag will stay in great condition and ready to accompany you every day.
